Als Präsident Usbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev 2016 an die Macht kam, begann Usbekistan um ausländische Investoren zu werben.

Die Regierung machte sich daran, günstige Rahmenbedingungen zu schaffen, Investitionsforen zu veranstalten, ein Programm zur Privatisierung von Staatsvermögen umzusetzen und das Image von Usbekistan als Investitionsstandort im Ausland zu verbessern. Das Hauptziel dieser Investitionspolitik besteht darin, das Wirtschaftswachstum anzukurbeln.
