Ohne die passende Musik kann selbst der beste Film langweilig sein. Filmmusik unterstreicht die Handlung und dient der Betonung der Charaktere der Figuren. Um die passende Musik zu komponieren und gezielt einsetzen zu können, ist fundiertes Fachwissen notwendig.

Dies erlangt man mit einem Studium der Filmmusik bzw. Sounddesign an einer der wenigen Hochschulen, die das in Deutschland anbieten.
